Player of the Week: Aston Grima
South Grenville Road Runners come away with a 2-2 tie at home
The South Grenville Road Runners played a very exciting game and came away with a tie for the second time this season. The team fought another hard battle for the second week in a row, this time against team # 2 from Brockville. Our little road runners kept their fans sitting on the edge of there seats for the entire game as they fought end to end, play for play. All the kids played hard as a team and did an excellent job of playing there positions this week. South Grenville opened up the scoring in the first period with a goal coming from Ben Spencer with 1:11 left in the first. Colby Richard helped ben out with his 3rd assist of the season. The road runners played a hard fought second period but were unable to score any goals. Brockville scored there first in the second ending the period tied at one. The third period was just as exciting as Brockville scored there 2nd of the game to go up 2-1 early in the third. The Road Runners didn't let up however and Jackson McNeilly was able to tie up the game at the 4:30 mark of the third with the assist coming from Gavin Prosser. They road runners fought on for the rest of the game but were unable to get the game winning goal and the game ended all tied up at two. The team played an excellent game and has started off the season with a record of 3-1-2 to start the season. An excellent effort from all of the players, job well done and keep up the hard work Road Runners.
